If you say I believe “this” and then live like “that” you will eventually find yourself in deep trouble.
Growing up around organized religions gave me the backdrop to make independent decisions as an adult. Being in that environment I learned things that later in life would be the foundation of everything I now believe I know. Just like pain is an amazing teacher, so is seeing people be dishonest to themselves and to those around them. Example: “Do as I say, not as I do.” Religion and or Politics.
I have no interest in changing what another individual says their belief system is. I believe all get to decide exactly what they believe during this life. I also believe that our personal belief system is one of the most important systems we will be working with for our entire life.
At the age of 56 I would be willing to give up all before denying YHWH. I believe that most have no idea that YHWH is the name for the God of the Old Testament as translated from the Hebrew. YHWH the supernatural being conceived as the perfect and omnipotent and omniscient originator and ruler of the universe; the object of worship in monotheistic religions. Most might recognize the name better in the English translation of Jesus.
When I learned the damage that was done to me by telling a single lie. I realized I needed to look deeper into the creation of thoughts. What I learned in the process was mind opening. It has never stopped amazing me the number of things I am clueless about even after years of learning about myself and environments I find myself passing through.
When this thought was originally introduced to me that I am the number one teller of lies to me it blew my mind. When the question was posed: “If somebody lied to you as much as you lied to you, would you trust them about anything?” The honest answer this question would be “Hell No!”
Here's a few examples. I could use to lose weight, then you take a second helping. I'm going to start exercising “tomorrow.” Just let your mind think of the amount of lies you tell yourself on a daily basis. Mind boggling, isn't it? Why would you trust you about anything? The cascading effect becomes how can you trust anybody about anything?
So, at this point you might be asking yourself how can I do something about this destructive behavior. Learn to live your belief system. Do not say, “this” and then do “that” or you will find yourself in trouble. If you say, “that,” do not do “this” or you will find yourself in trouble.
It’s different if your beliefs and actions don’t match. Why?? Because if you cannot trust you, who can you trust. The short answer to this question would be “No One.”
See the slippery slope set up here? Tomorrow, as time goes on, little things come into my world. Something I was unaware of. What do I do with that? Too many simply dismiss it.
I started this Substack to present observations I have made during this journey I call life. To attempt to present my observations in a way that is uplifting yet informative. Something that could, if applied, change all aspects for the participants.
In 2023 I live on the ocean next to my daughter and her family. I designed a #1 Google ranked business I get to play in 21 hours a week. If you choose to come on this journey with me, I believe you will have thoughts you never had before. Then we change the world. Thanks for taking the time to read this.
Cheers,
